The Make Lounge offers short-term contemporary craft workshops for busy Londoners in a fun, friendly environment. Whether you’re viewing this web site, registering for a workshop, or purchasing a gift voucher, you are entering into a legal agreement with our company, there are a few things you should know. Please read the following carefully.
The Make Lounge is a limited company (The Make Lounge, Ltd.) and our address is 3-4 Waterloo Gardens, Barnsbury Street, London N1 1TY. Our contact telephone number is 020 7609 0275.
We value your business, so we’ve tried hard to make our terms as fair and balanced as possible. These terms apply on any orders and although they cannot be changed on an individual purchase, we welcome your input. Feel free to contact us.
Due to the special nature of our workshops and the very limited enrollment, classes are non-refundable and there are no transfers or reschedules. Please check your diary carefully before you sign up. Of course, if you’re unable to attend, you’re welcome to send someone in your place; please provide your replacement’s name, phone number and email address in advance of the workshop.
In the unlikely event that a workshop is cancelled, we’ll attempt to give you as much warning as possible to the email address you’ve registered with us. We will happily refund your booking fee or transfer you to a workshop of the same price, space permitting. However, we cannot accept responsibility for wasted travel or other costs or for disappointment.
Vouchers for hands-on workshops at The Make Lounge can be purchased online, are easy to redeem and are valid for 6 months after purchase. We will email your personalised voucher (immediately or on your specified date) or you can print it out for delivery yourself. As we cannot control what is done with a voucher once purchased, your normal statutory right of cancellation within 7 working days is therefore waived. Vouchers cannot be redeemed for cash.
To register for a workshop you’ll need to provide your email address as well as your own username and password. Please keep this login information confidential as you are responsible for any activity related to this username and password.
Our liability in relation to purchases of vouchers, products or workshops is limited to the value of the order except for claims relating to our negligence which are limited to a maximum of £1,000,000 and in the unlikely event of a claim for death or personal injury arising from such negligence in which case our liability is unlimited.

We hate computer viruses as much as you do, so we take great pains to protect our website users from them by passing everything we upload through an up-to-date virus prevention software package. Of course, it’s impossible to guarantee that a virus will not get through to our website either through that system or by someone attacking the site. To safeguard yourself, please make sure that you have your own up-to-date virus protection software and keep backups of your system so that you do not lose important data in the event that a virus or other device gets through. We can’t, therefore, be responsible for any losses you incur through such an attack.
From time to time, our website may contain links to other websites, either in the form of advertisements or otherwise. When you activate those links, you will leave The Make Lounge website. As we have no control over the content of those sites and what they do with any personal information you may give them, we cannot accept any responsibility for any loss you may incur as a result of visiting that site.
We recommend you exercise sensible caution before undertaking any activity on such sites. Although we do not have the resources to get involved in any disputes between yourself and the people who run such a site, we appreciate you bringing any problems to our attention.
No third party other than donees of vouchers are intended to the benefit of these terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
In our terms we use headings to help you navigate the document easily. Please note however that the headings themselves are not part of the terms and are just “flags” to help guide you. Therefore, the wording of the headings does not effect the interpretation of the terms.
The Make Lounge is based in and operates in the UK and therefore the laws of England will apply to the interpretation of these terms and, in the unlikely event of a dispute, we agree wherever possible to attempt to resolve the matter through mediation and otherwise through the exclusive jurisdiction of English courts of law.
