Workshops
Overlocking made easy

With their ability to simultaneously cut and stitch a hem, overlocking machines are incredibly useful for decorating, reinforcing and constructing garments and other items. But they can be a bit intimidating! In this workshop, we’ll demystify the overlocker by teaching you how to thread, adjust tension and differential feed, and deal with corners and curves. You’ll leave the workshop with a set of rolled hem napkins, in your choice of gorgeous solid or printed fabrics!

Additional information
Nin Castle is the founder of goodone, an award winning, sustainable fashion design company that produces innovative, one-off clothing made from hand picked, locally sourced, recycled fabrics. Her interest in ethical fashion began during her second year at university and she created her final fourth year collection entirely from organic and recycled fabrics.
Since then, Nin’s passion for reusing and recycling clothing has continued to grow. ‘Whether it’s a vintage dress or woolly jumper, each of us has clothing we won’t throw away but never wear,’ she explains. ‘With a little creativity and guidance it’s easy to breathe new life into these forgotten gems, whilst also saving money, being kind to the planet, and of course creating clothes that fit to perfection.’
Ekaterina Ignatieva lives and breathes fashion – and has done so since she was a little girl in Moscow, refusing to wear warm clothes in winter just so she could look fashionable! Born in Russia, she inherited her love of sewing from her grandmother. She grew up in Australia where she recently completed a Diploma in Fashion Design and later moved to London to pursue a career in the fashion industry. She currently works for bridal wear designer Shane Ryding at Luella’s Boudoir and in time plans to start up her own label. Browse some of her designs here.
