Additional information
Catherine Hirst learned to crochet as a little girl from her grandmother. She quickly added knitting and embroidery to her repertoire and has been creating handmade clothing and accessories ever since. ‘I always have half a dozen projects on the go, because I get so excited to try a new pattern or design idea,’ says Catherine. ‘I’m inspired by so many things in London: from the skirt of a woman who passes me on the street, to the architecture of the old buildings.’ Catherine has taught knitting, crochet, and embroidery for more than a decade to groups and individuals in Britain, the United States, and France.
