Workshops
Knitted mini holiday stockings

Stash tiny gifts and treats inside miniature holiday stockings embellished with stripes, sparkly threads and other wintry flourishes. You’ll learn how to knit to create one or two festive stockings during class, plus take away instructions and materials to continue at home. We’ll provide a pair of sustainable bamboo knitting needles and a variety of yarn colours for you to choose from.

Additional information
Laura Parkinson learnt to knit before she was old enough to remember. ‘My Mum put sticks and string in my hands to keep me quiet on those long summer holidays,’ she says. In 2005 she co-founded Stitch and Bitch London (S&BL) in 2005 with fellow knitter Lauren O’Farrell. Today, the group’s mailing list numbers more than 1,000 individuals and Laura has taught everyone from age 6 to 60 (and above) to knit. In 2007 S&BL embarked up on a challenge to knit giant scarves for the Trafalgar Square lions in aid of Cancer Research UK. With the help of more than 150 knitters in 15 different countries, the finished scarf was over three times the height of Nelson’s column.
