Knitted baby booties

Learn how to cast on, knit and cast off to create a beautiful pair of baby booties. (The perfect gift for a soon-to-be parent!) We provide all materials including bamboo needles, satin ribbons and baby-soft cashmere/merino blend yarn in your choice of pink, blue or yellow.

Laura Parkinson learnt to knit before she was old enough to remember. ‘My Mum put sticks and string in my hands to keep me quiet on those long summer holidays,’ she says. In 2005 she co-founded Stitch and Bitch London (S&BL) in 2005 with fellow knitter Lauren O’Farrell. Today, the group’s mailing list numbers more than 1,000 individuals and Laura has taught everyone from age 6 to 60 (and above) to knit. In 2007 S&BL embarked up on a challenge to knit giant scarves for the Trafalgar Square lions in aid of Cancer Research UK. With the help of more than 150 knitters in 15 different countries, the finished scarf was over three times the height of Nelson’s column.
