Cocktail ring

Put a bit of ‘bling’ back into your life – without breaking the bank! You’ll learn wire wrapping skills to create a striking cocktail ring featuring Swarovski crystals, glass, wood and semi-precious stones on a sized Swarovski ring base. Time permitting, you’ll also create one or two simpler wire-wrapped vintage button rings.
All materials included plus an instruction and resource list for you to take home. No previous jewellery making experience required.

Merle O’Grady trained in Fashion Design in her native Ireland before moving to London and following her true passion: accessories. She studied Accessory Design at Cordwainers College gaining a wealth of specialist skills, especially in leather work. After working in the studios of Pauric Sweeney, Boyd, and Topshop Design, Merle ran a successful stall at Spitalfields Market in London before focusing on her eponymous jewellery line.
Today, Merle designs and makes leather goods on an individual, commission basis while focusing her energies on her jewellery collections, which she sells online. She uses an eclectic mix of materials including Perspex, precious metals and semi-precious stones. ‘My aim when making accessories, whether leather or jewellery, is always to create something chic and glamorous,’ she says. ‘The fact that it is handcrafted only adds to its beauty by giving the design a “soul.”
