Fabric printing workshop

Want to learn to print on fabric? We’ll teach you how, using readily-available materials and simple techniques you can do at home. You’ll take home one or two completed (and machine washable) items, plus the know-how to print many more. Please bring one or two light-coloured fabric items (T-shirts, tote bags, pillowcases or babygros) or purchase at the workshop for £5 each. We’ll provide all other tools and materials including fabric paints, brushes, sponges, and plenty of practice fabric.

Additional information
Linda Hoetink obtained an MA in Fine Arts in Amsterdam and worked as a painter before exchanging her canvas for silk. She now makes hand-printed and hand-painted scarves, cushions and necklaces which she sells in boutiques throughout London. (See her work here.)
Linda’s textiles display a strong sense of colour and her method of painting directly onto the fabric lends a bold, rhythmic quality to her work. ‘The relationship between pure and applied art has has always interested me,’ she says. ‘I try to fuse the two in my work, by exploring the tension between the artistic and the decorative.’
