Extraordinary embroidery

We’ll show you how to transfer images onto fabric, teach you running stitch, satin stitch and French knots, then get embroidering together! All materials provided, including your choice of a Sublime Stitching reusable pattern pack, a tea towel or pair of pillow cases, plus thread, hoops, and needles. Printed instructions also provided to take home.

Cake decorating
Learn to decorate a beautiful cake that you can actually eat! (See cakes previous students have made here!) In this two-part workshop, held over two consecutive mornings or evenings, you’ll work on a freshly-baked 6” chocolate cake to create your own beautiful design. (Most courses offer an inedible styrofoam ‘dummy’ cake – where’s the fun in that?)
In the first session, you’ll tint, roll and smooth fondant icing to perfectly cover your cake, then learn to cut and shape delicate sugar craft petals to create a spray of beautiful blossoms. You’ll also personalise your cake with your own inscription, piped onto a icing plaque you create yourself. The next evening, you’ll finish and attach your blossoms plus pipe with royal icing and add finishing decorative touches to your cake.
This class is perfect if you’re planning a wedding, or for anyone who wants to make their every day cakes extra special! All materials provided, including cake, board and carrying box, plus use of specialist tools during class.

Soya teacup candle
Make your own beautifully scented candle using eco-friendly soya wax, natural essential oils, and a vintage china teacup set.
You’ll learn about essential oils to create a blend of your choice, then fashion your own container candle. All materials provided (including teacups and saucers) or bring a favourite cup or other container to fill. You’ll also away a resource list so you can make more candles at home!
Note: As the molten wax needs time to solidify, enjoy a drink or a spot of shopping on nearby Upper Street while your candle cools, or come pick up another day. Alternately, we can post it to you for £6 to cover the cost of postage and packing materials.

Knockout knickers
Tired of boring high street knickers? Sew your own instead! You’ll make a pair of briefs or thongs in class, then take home patterns and instructions to stitch briefs, thongs and boy shorts. You’ll learn to insert elastic, create the perfect bow, and have a go on overlocking machines to finish seams. All materials provided, including printed cottons, satins, and lace plus fancy trimmings.
PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT a beginner’s workshop. You should already know how to sew straight and curved seams, confidently use a sewing machine and have a few recent projects under your belt. (If you haven’t sewn recently, please sign up for one of our Intro to Sewing Machine workshops: Cafe Apron, Cushion Cover or Tote Bags)
