Patchwork Quilt
Design and create your own quilt over three sessions. You’ll take home a lovely 85cm by 65cm quilt (diagram here), suitable for use as a play mat, cot or lap quilt, or your own work of wall art!
*Learn to make and piece quilt blocks
*Use batting and backing
*Machine quilt
*Bind edges and mitre corners for a professional finish
*Batting and threads provided
Please bring your own fabrics (quantities below) or come a few minutes early to purchase from our shop. We have more than 120 varieties of printed and solid fabrics to choose from.
The class breaks down as follows, over either three weeknights or two Sunday sessions:
*Choose and combine fabrics, learn rotary cutting techniques, cut and stitch squares together to create the patchwork top.
*Baste quilting layers and machine quilt.
*Cut and make binding, bind quilt edges and mitre corners to finish.
PLEASE NOTE: This is not an absolute beginner’s workshop. You should be able to use a sewing machine unaided before coming to class. If you haven’t sewn recently, please sign up for one of our Learn to Sew! Workshops to get started: Cafe Apron, Cushion Cover or Tote Bags)

Learn to Sew: Cafe Apron
Learn how to use a sewing machine and make a clever pocketed apron, perfect for gardening, cooking or washing up.
*Learn basic sewing terminology and tips
*Pin and cut using a basic paper pattern
*Thread a machine, wind a bobbin, and stitch seams
*Fabric, thread and cushion pad provided
*Choose from more than 120 fabrics in our shop
*Take away patterns and instructions for home use

Bespoke Lampshade
Let there be light! Transform any room with a bespoke lampshade you create yourself! Fashion a stylish 30 cm diameter shade, then use it to top a base or hang it pendant-style.
Expert instruction and all materials provided, including fabric from a range of more than 120 different printed and solid varieties in our shop. (Or bring 30cm of 114cm wide lightweight fabric if you have a specific look in mind!)
If you you’re bitten by the decorating bug, we also have take-home kits in 20cm, 30cm and 45cm sizes to purchase in our shop after class.

Learn to Crochet: Flowers and Spheres
Crochet is the new knitting! Learn how in this two-part beginner’s workshop and leave with a wonderfully versatile skill.
*Colourful wools and crochet hook included
*Take away patterns and instructions provided
*No previous crochet experience needed.
Session 1:
*Learn to comfortably hold the hook and the yarn
*Create double crochet, half treble, treble, double treble, and slip stitches.Session 2:
*Use what you’ve learned to create more elaborate flowers or embark on spheres, the practical building blocks for many other projects. You’ll take away instructions for everything!NOTE: Be prepared do to a bit of homework between the two sessions to help the new techniques become second nature to you.
